Privacy Policy
I’m Dylan. I run BestPicklePad.com on my own. This privacy policy explains what information the site collects when you visit, contact me, or click through to a product, and how I handle it. I’ve kept it as plain and honest as the rest of the site.
What Information Does BestPicklePad Collect?
Information You Give Me Directly
If you contact me via the contact page or by email, I collect your name, email address, and whatever message you send. That’s it. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else. If I add a newsletter in the future, I’ll update this policy and ask for your explicit consent before adding you to anything.
Analytics Data
I use privacy-focused analytics (not Google Analytics) to understand basic traffic patterns, such as which guides and reviews players actually read. This data is anonymized and aggregated. I cannot identify you individually from it. The data I collect includes: pages visited, time on page, device type, browser type, and general traffic source (e.g., Google, Reddit, direct). No personal identifiers.
Affiliate Link Tracking
When you click an Amazon affiliate link on this site, Amazon places its own cookie to attribute the referral. That tracking is governed entirely by Amazon’s privacy policy. I never see your purchase details, your account, or your personal information. If I ever join another affiliate program, it will be governed by that company’s own privacy policy, and I’ll update this page. You can read how the site earns money on my affiliate disclaimer page.
Comments
If comments are enabled on a post and you leave one, I collect the name and email you submit. Your email is never published. Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service before appearing.
What Don’t I Do With Your Information?
I do not sell your information to anyone. I do not share your data with advertisers. I do not use your contact information without your explicit consent. I do not run Google Analytics or build advertising profiles.
Does This Site Use Cookies?
This site sets only essential cookies, the minimum needed to keep it secure and working. If you leave a comment, WordPress may also save a cookie so you don’t have to retype your name and email next time. The one exception is Amazon: when you click through to Amazon, it sets its own cookie, which I don’t control (see affiliate link tracking above). You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to read anything here.
Where Is My Data Stored?
Site data is stored on secure servers in the United States. If you’re visiting from outside the US, by using the site, you understand your data may be processed there.
How Long Do I Keep Your Data?
- Contact messages: Kept for up to 1 year, then deleted.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized. Kept indefinitely, but it cannot be linked back to any individual.
- Comment data: Kept as long as the comment is published.
What Are Your Privacy Rights?
Depending on where you live (California, the EU, the UK, Canada, or elsewhere), you may have the right to:
- See what personal data I hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of any future marketing
To exercise any of these, email me at contact@bestpicklepad.com. I’ll respond within 30 days. No bots. No runaround.
Is This Site Intended for Children?
This site is intended for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact me, and I’ll delete it immediately.
Will This Privacy Policy Change?
If something changes, such as new tools, new affiliate programs, or new features, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top. For the site’s rules of use, see the terms and conditions, and you can learn more about me and BestPicklePad.
